How does DRI save Energy?

Imagine saving 50-60 or more percent on the water you are currently using on your trees or vines. This in turn means that you are using your irrigation pump systems less and in the same percentage ratio that you are saving water.  Meaning, if you are using 60% less water than you used to use, then you are using 60% less energy to pump that water. Believe it or not, many small farmers around the world, including the United States, are not so concerned about water savings because in most areas of the world, the water is… free! But those same farmers get pretty excited when they can drastically cut their irrigation energy costs!

Not only does it take a lot of water to to get to the roots of these trees, but it cost a lot to pump that water. Imagine cutting those costs by more than half!

When you cut irrigation use, you spend less on the energy to pump that water to your plants. The ‘USDA’s 2013 Farm and Ranch Irrigation Report,’ found that energy was the farmers #1 irrigation cost. It stated “Energy costs associated with pumping water on the farm (from both wells and surface water) are the largest category of irrigation expenses. In 2013, the total U.S. energy costs of irrigation was $2.7 billion”.  Now DRI can’t help all aspects of the irrigation industry, as there are a lot of crop types that rely on sprinkler systems like wheat, corn and other grains. But as fresh water becomes more and more a commodity and farmers start to have to pay for that water, like those in some areas of California, water consumption and how it can be used efficiently is now becoming an issue of upmost importance all over the world.

Interesting fact: In California there are farms with DRI installed that have energy costs to pump water that are in the six figures. Although saving water is great for these large farms, they really like the savings that comes with pumping far less water. Those savings are now profit of which they never had before. ....... That’s DRI Technology!

Imagine the impact on on your bottom line!
